  1. This package contains two versions of the same UDEL utility :
  2. A command-line DOS version which is able to work in french or english.
  3. A Windows version which works only in english.
  4.  
  5. General features of both versions are the same even if these versions
  6. differ slightly.
  7.  
  8. This package contains the following files :

  11. MELIRE.TXT      French version of this file.
  12. UDEL_END.HLP    English help text for the DOS version.
  13. UDEL_FRD.HLP    French help text for the DOS version.
  14. UDEL_ENW.HLP    English help text for the Windows version.
  15. UDEL.EXE        DOS version.
  16. UDELW.EXE       Windows version.
  17. UDEL_EN.CFG     English configuration file (must be renamed UDEL.CFG)
  18. UDEL_FR.CFG     French configuration file (must be renamed UDEL.CFG)

  20. This package may be freely distributed if all these files remain together
  21. and unmodified.

  28. How to install UDEL for DOS
  29. ---------------------------

  31. To install UDEL for DOS, you only have to copy files UDEL.EXE, UDEL_xxD.HLP
  32. and UDEL_xx.CFG to the same directory and rename UDEL_EN.CFG to UDEL.CFG
  33. if you want UDEL to work in english or to rename UDEL_FR.CFG to UDEL.CFG
  34. if you want UDEL to work in french.

  36. For a short help about UDEL, type 'UDEL /H' for an english help or 'UDEL /A'
  37. for a french help.

  41. How to install UDEL for Windows
  42. -------------------------------

  44. To install UDEL for Windows, you only have to copy files UDELW.EXE and
  45. UDEL_ENW.HLP (this help file) to the same directory and add UDEL to your
  46. 'Utilities' group of applications in the Program Manager or to your
  47. application launcher configuration (Launch, METZ Runner or Desktop Helper,
  48. for example).

  56. 1. A '/E' option (DOS version) or an 'Exclude' push button (Windows version)
  57.    to precise a list of files or directories to leave undeleted.

  59. 2. The ability to launch the Windows version in a non-interactive mode with
  60.    command line options like the DOS version.

  62. 3. For the Windows version, the ability to open a 'List of files to delete'
  63.    file like in the DOS version with the /F option.
